General Information -
This land came to be known as Dhom as the village blessed by the residence of Dhaumya Rishi during the mythological period. Over time, the name Daund became popular due to the corruption of Dhom Che Dhond and Dhond Cha Daund. Daund is 80 km from Pune city. In the distance, along the Pune Solapur highway, the State Reserve Force Group no. 5 and 7 have their headquarters. Daund is a junction of Central Railway and regular daily more than 50 high-speed trains travel to and from South and North India. The railway colony is in Daund city and has an estimated population of more than 15000. So 2,400 families of the State Reserve Force means nearly 10,000 people to live in this village.
